Cree Hunters of the Mistassini

I watched this film last night and was incredibly impressed by it. Great scenes of snowy spruce forests along with genuine bushcraft skills and an insight into some Cree beliefs.
Luckily the video is free to watch and the website also has a fair few other videos which have also piqued my interest. Whilst searching for it I also came across another worthwhile blog on paddle making.

I agree, it's a great film. I find these types of films refreshing because the more sensationalistic types of survival and bushcraft programs are so popular on tv. The Cree guide I travel with in northern Quebec knows the man (? Blacksmith) in this video. He's still alive, although very old and doesn't go hunting anymore. Have you seen Dead River Rough Cut?

No, I've not seen that one - guess I'll have to look it up.
